Expertise
Central to Rebecca’s approach is to gain an understanding of the client’s family relationships. Rebecca is experienced in bringing together multi-disciplinary teams using a range of legal tools to support the client and their family – this can include corporate, reputation management, family, disputes and charity expertise.
In addition, Rebecca advises on significant sized estates and international probate. Rebecca also has considerable experience advising individuals and family lawyers on the tax implications of separation and divorce. In particular, Rebecca provides tax and trust advice in the context of Schedule 1 proceedings (where there is financial provision of a child with unmarried parents).
Rebecca regularly speaks on a variety of private client topics aimed at family lawyers including the application of trusts to Schedule 1 cases, capital gains tax on divorce and has acted as a single joint expert in proceedings. Rebecca sits on the Resolution Committee for Pensions, Tax and Financial Remedies.
