Expertise
Colin supports clients at all stages of their UK immigration including entry clearance, further leave to remain and indefinite leave to remain applications. He also advises on nationality law matters, as well as questions relating to the EU Settlement Scheme.
Colin has a particular interest in complex immigration applications, especially where the usual routes for entry clearance or further leave to remain are unavailable to the applicant and/or their family, and he will often work closely with the client to develop a long-term immigration strategy.
Colin also enjoys working with clients who have complex immigration needs due to previous immigration breaches or their history and personal circumstances complicate their immigration position in the UK.
Colin advises on UK and international tax and succession issues including the creation, administration, restructuring and taxation of cross-border asset holding structures such as trusts, family limited partnerships and family investment companies. He also assists on issues affecting trustees and their beneficiaries including the duties and liabilities of trustees, and the rights of beneficiaries. Colin has particular experience of complex and high-profile post-death estate administration especially where a cross-border element exists. Connected with this, Colin also has considerable experience on art and heritage matters including on matters connected with a post-death estate administration.
