The leading City firm was established by Clare Maurice, Richard Turnor (now retired) and Ceris Gardner in 2009 following the demerger of Allen & Overy’s private client department.
The firm’s new name is: Movember Turnor Gardner.
By reading this far, we hope we have captured your attention. Partner and head of litigation at MTG, Rupert Ticehurst, is leading the charge on the firm’s support of Prostate Cancer UK following the death of his own father.
Speaking about his experience, Rupert said: “My father died of prostate cancer. He was 68. He was a doctor. He had a prostate problem for a number of years. He would have known it might be prostate cancer. He did nothing about it. When he finally acted, it was too late. He was given a terminal diagnosis – 3 years. He died within a year.”
MTG have adopted Prostate Cancer UK as their charity of the year with activities already underway such as ‘the Great MTG Bake Off,’ a staff quiz and employees taking on individual challenges such as running the Chicago Marathon. For the month of November, MTG will also be known as Movember Turnor Gardner and those who can will be growing moustaches from 1-30 November to raise funds for the charity and raise awareness of the disease.
